As more and more hotels in Ireland are discovering twitter, Travelshake Social Media has created a new list of Ireland’s top 50 hotels on twitter by number of followers.
The top 50 list contains 9 Dublin hotels, 10 Cork hotels and 5 from Northern Ireland. The number one place is occupied by the “Travelodge Ireland” hotel group with 1,489 followers, narrowly beating “the d hotel” in Drogheda.
Other counties that feature hotels in the top 50 are Antrim (Belfast) with 4, Kerry with 3, Waterford, Mayo and Galway with 2 hotels and Louth, Wexford, Clare, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Sligo, Derry, Meath and Carlow with 1.
In addition, there are 9 hotel groups represented; Travelodge, Best Western, Carlton, Days, Clarion, Moran, Capital, Crowne Plaza and the Irish County Hotel Group.
Only the top 4 hotels have more than 1000 followers each. The list was compiled by Travelshake Social Media (www.TravelshakeSocialMedia.ie) on the 17th February 2010.

Noticed that the Burlington with 359 Followers is missing too – thats @burlington09 rather than @burlington (Sydney) or @burlingtonhotel (Kent) or @burlingtondublin (not taken) that you would expect !
